MyWorkoutTracker
The legal basics for using MyWorkoutTracker — what you're agreeing to, what data is collected, and the risks of following an exercise program.
01
By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
MyWorkoutTracker is a personal workout-tracking web app: you configure your own exercise program (equipment, days, exercises, and progression), log your sessions, and the app tracks your progress, personal records, and history over time. It's run by an individual (Richard Felch), not a company, on infrastructure he personally maintains.
You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's permission and supervision, to create an account. Exercise carries physical risk (see the Liability Waiver below) — younger users should not use this app without an adult's involvement.
You're responsible for keeping your PIN private and for anything that happens under your account. One account per person. If you suspect someone else knows your PIN, change it or contact the operator.
New accounts get a free period through the end of the month they join (or through the end of the following month if they join on the 15th or later). After that, continued access costs $5/month, paid via Venmo to the handle shown in the app. There is currently no automated payment verification — payment is confirmed manually by the operator, who can lock or unlock any account's access at their discretion, including for non-payment. This is a small, informal billing arrangement, not a merchant payment system with buyer protections.
Don't use the app to store or share anything illegal, don't attempt to access other users' accounts or data, and don't abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent the app's security. Accounts that do may be locked or removed without notice.
The app is provided "as is." It runs on a single small server maintained by one person in their spare time — there's no uptime guarantee, no formal support contract, and no guarantee that any weight or progression number the app calculates is accurate or appropriate for you specifically. Back up anything you can't afford to lose; data loss, while not expected, is possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Richard Felch is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to lost data, missed workouts, or reliance on any exercise, weight, or progression number the app calculates. See the Liability Waiver below specifically regarding physical injury.
These terms, the app itself, and pricing may change over time. The operator may suspend or terminate any account, or the service as a whole, at any time. Continuing to use the app after a change to these terms means you accept the updated version.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
02
What's collected, why, and what happens to it.
Solely to run the app for you: authenticating your login, building your program, tracking your progress, and (for admin functions) letting the operator manage accounts and billing. Your data is never sold, and it's not shared with advertisers or data brokers — there are no ads and no third-party analytics in this app.
Data is stored on private infrastructure the operator personally controls (a home server and network-attached storage), not a third-party cloud provider. It is not encrypted at rest beyond standard disk/OS protections. Treat this like a small, trusted, self-hosted service rather than an enterprise platform — appropriate for workout logs, not for sensitive medical records.
The app uses two cookies: one that keeps you signed in after entering your PIN (expires after 24 hours), and one that lets the app recognize your browser so you don't have to re-enter your email every visit. Neither is used for advertising or tracking across other websites.
You can clear your logged workout history at any time from Settings. To delete your account entirely, contact the operator directly — admin accounts can remove a user and their data completely.
This app isn't directed at children under 13, and knowingly collected data from a child that age wouldn't be retained if discovered.
If what's collected or how it's used changes materially, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change.
Questions about your data: Richard Felch, [email protected].
03
Exercise carries real physical risk — read this section specifically before you start.
Weightlifting and physical exercise carry an inherent risk of injury, including but not limited to muscle strain, joint injury, and in rare cases more serious harm, even when performed correctly. By using this app to track your workouts, you voluntarily assume all risk of injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation.
This app is a tracker and calculator, not a coach. You choose your own exercises, and the weight, rep, and progression numbers it shows are produced by simple, fixed rules (percentages of a number you entered, or automatic step-ups/downs based on whether you hit a rep target) — not by a trainer, coach, or medical professional evaluating you, and not sourced from any exercise-instruction content. It has no way to know if a calculated weight, or an exercise you've chosen, is appropriate for your body, technique, or condition on a given day. You're responsible for using your own judgment: stop if something hurts, use a weight you can handle safely, and use correct form regardless of what a screen tells you to lift.
To the fullest extent permitted by North Carolina law, you release Richard Felch from any and all claims, liability, and damages arising from injury or harm related to your use of this app to log and track the exercise program you built.
Your use of this app for any workout is entirely voluntary. If you're not comfortable accepting these risks, don't use the app to track your training.
